Year two August 2016

We are in the middle of a very busy season. The Glamping venture which we started last year is proving to be very successful. Our visitors love it. The work that we put in over the winter building two kitchen diners for the bell tent and the gypsy wagon has payed off.

The Glamping experience in the bell tent and the gypsy wagon is quirky but slightly different. The kitchen diners provide somewhere to prepare meals and to eat inside out of the sun or the rain.

Guests enjoy the complete seclusion of the gypsy wagon and the small cosy bed. Reliving the reality of a gypsy lifestyle is a very unique experience.

The bell tent provides the ultimate luxury in a tent! It is fitted out like a hotel room, posh carpets, double bed with bedside tables and lighting. The perfect nights sleep and place to relax!!

Both areas have outdoor furniture and an adult area to play at building a campfire, tea lights and a cosy evening atmosphere for two.

We have three vintage vehicles. The showman’s wagon, the gypsy wagon and now the American airstream. This has added new interest to this well located site in the heart of Shropshire. The lawned camping area is as neat as ever with newly planted silver birch dotted around. The hedgerows and trees are beginning to provide some privacy leaving open views of the surrounding countryside. I am leaving this outdated photo as it shows the splendid views across the fields.

The beautifully mowed site area overlooks a panoramic stretch of lovely lush Shropshire countryside with a horizon stretching to the Wrekin in the distance and the ridge and spire of  Grindshill church. When people have been here a couple of days they also comment on how quiet it is. This rural part of  Shropshire is amass with endless quiet country lanes.

The area around Ellesmere is known for the meres. Lakes which formed in the ice age and now blessing the area with a unique natural beauty to be explored.  Most are accessible by country paths and walkways including the towpaths of the nearby LLangollen Canal.
